So the last couple of days have been pretty eventful. We moved from the ICU at Utah Valley hospital to the inpatient rehab at the U. Leaving the familiar surroundings and the team at UVH was a mixed bag of emotions. Louis developed relationships with so many of those amazing care givers and we had an established routine after 14 days in the same room that casting off into a new facility with new care givers was a little scary.
This is Nissa one of the Physical Therapists that Louis worked with daily at UVH. She makes gnomes and Louis was telling her about his latest trip with Stacy Bare to Kyrgyzstan and the nomadic nature of many of the people there. So...this little guy is a gnomad! HA how cute is that?
He now graces the window sill in our room at the U and brings luck and good fortune.
We traveled by transport van in snazzy custom stretcher with shocks. Louis enjoyed just being out of the room and moving. As the transport driver delivered us to our room. He said "wow" how did you snag this room? Someone out there must think that Lou is pretty great because we were assigned the biggest room on the floor (with huge windows)!
I have not learned how to add videos to the blog so have been adding them to instagram and facebook.
We met our team which consists of Respiratory, Speech, Physical, Occupational and Psych therapies.
Lou has a dedicated team which work in tandem to achieve the greatest possible outcome. He is building those new relationships in true Lou style.
Wednesday was a tough night, with the move the pain management schedule got off somehow and Lou paid a pretty stiff price.
Thursday, yesterday, was his first full day.
We receive the daily schedule each morning (anyone who knows Louis and has experienced his love of organization and planning will appreciate how that helps him). The day begins at 8am and ends around 3pm followed by a pre-bedtime massage.
Following the 1st full day Louis had the best night sleep since the accident and woke this am feeling stiff and positive.
In the next day or two Louis will be taking over the blog so you have his beautiful prose to look forward to.
Please know that we love you and we feel your thoughts and light daily. Keep it coming. Prayers, thoughts, love, focused thought on his spine, distance healing...bring it on. Lou is the strongest person I have ever know and help is hard to accept, keep sending it!!

So happy for these updates! Glad Lou is continuing to improve! He's so strong, a true inspiration! Love you all!
