Louis has expressed that he is not yet ready for his debut. We apologize for the disappointing news. We are going to push visitation until Wednesday pending how he is feeling.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support and concern. We're starting this page just so we have a central location where we can keep everyone informed about Louis. As many of you know, Louis was in skiing accident at about 5:30 last night. The fall fractured his spine in two places and severed his spinal column in his lower back. He went into surgery at around midnight and just got out around 8 am. His status is stable and we're hoping for a safe and speedy recovery. The doctors are currently working on getting him to a pain-free, conscious state. They performed 3 procedures throughout the night that resulted in the fusing of his c6 to t7 vertebrae. These appear to have been successful. Again, thank you all for your love and support and we'll try the best we can to keep everyone up to date with any changes.

Monday Morning 2/24/20 Good Morning Team Love-on-Louis (Thank you Stacey Bare for the perfect name for the Go Fund Me)!! The night was on par with the one previous. Yesterday we added a feeding tube to our arsenal as Lou has been unable to swallow properly so...no food, no drinks...sucks, but you knew this. At least now he is getting needed calories. This morning the doctor decided on a new focus. Previously stabilization was the goal, as of this morning we are shifting to getting Lou out of the ICU and into the University of Utah Spinal Rehab facility. Focus, focus on that! Anna Catino was brilliant in alerting the team at the U of Louis' situation and as I understand it, they have been standing by ready and waiting for him. I need to take a moment to let you all know what Erme and Anna did for us because they will not. From my perspective, there is no way that Louis would be here without Erme. Failure - Not the End of the World

Last week it happened. I missed my chair while transferring from the shower bench. For the first couple weeks home I would call either Jacki or Miriam and have them join me in the bathroom to spot. Most times it happened without a hitch, but every so often I would spring forward a bit too far and drive my head into their chest. They would then catch my naked body and guide me gently back into the chair. I worked at it over and over to point of not calling for a spot and after more than two weeks with no spotting you might say I was on my way. On that day as I began my bowel and shower routine Jacki headed out for her morning run. I pooped in a very hands on kind of way, cleaned that up then showered. Afterward I toweled off and bumped my body/butt along the transfer bench toward the wheelchair .
