Good Morning All. Jacki here. A quick update.
The last 24 hours have been a bit of whirlwind. Lou has over achieved at every turn...go figure.

I will ask Erme Catino to write up the event and instead will focus on the here and now.

A quick overview of the injuries.
As Fynn posted yesterday Louis had two fractures in his back, 1 in the cervical region and the other the Thoracic. Around T5 Lou's spinal cord was damaged and has resulted in current paralysis from mid chest down. In addition, the majority of his scalp was torn off presumably by impact with a tree. He was brought to Utah Valley Hospital and spent approximately 8 hours in surgery from Wednesday night to Thursday morning. During the procedure the surgeon fused C6 through T7 and reattached his scalp. The surgery went very well and according to plan with no surprises, great news considering the extent of the injuries.

After coming out of the anesthesia (thank God for spell check) and having the intubation tube removed Louis proceeded to charm and endear himself to everyone despite efforts to manage the pain. I know you are shocked!

One thing I would like you all to know is that your texts, calls, emails, thoughts and prayers are felt, truly felt. Lou insisted on hearing every one and dictated responses as he was able. Your love makes a difference so keep it coming.

  9. Carl and Lori Churchill from Alpha coffee here. I was just laughing with Louis and Stacy Bare the other day in the shop. We are wishing him a speedy recovery. Stay strong. There is a tasty breakfast burrito and Viking latte on the house with his name on it when he’s back out and about.
